You use many different materials in your everyday life. Many of these are made from crude oil or depend on it for their manufacture. Crude oil is vital to modern living, yet stories of the problems caused when things go wrong are often in the news.
You learnt about how crude oil is changed into useful products like fuels, plastics, cosmetics, and paints. You also learnt about the causes of air pollution and how they may be prevented. You also looked at the issues surrounding the testing of products on animals. Finally you learnt about the changes that occur in food when it is cooked and about the chemicals we add to food. |
