Each of the GCSE qualifications is assessed as follows:
- 25% controlled assessment - This is the piece of work you do in school where you plan, carry out and analyse data from an experiment.
- 35% Paper 1 - This is made up of the first biology, chemistry and physics topic. Each section is marked out of 25. Each section will have a 6 mark question where you will be marked on your spelling and grammar.
- 40% Paper 2 - This is made up of the second biology, chemistry and physics topic. Each section is marked out of 25. Each section has a 6 mark question where you will be marked on your spelling and grammar. There is also a 10 mark data question at the end of the paper.
